letting go

So I ended up dreaming I was with this guy and he was fishing. He didn't pay much attention to me. He was focused on his goal of getting a fish. I think the other people didn't think he would do that well since he started late. Then all of a sudden I saw his string being pulled. No one noticed but him and I. It looked like something bigger than a fish. I was happy and excited for him and helped him navigate it in. Then a huge sailing ship (like old time) came up out of the water. It was beautiful. We boarded the ship. I felt a tug... like he was looking around how to make it go... and get away and even though I had helped him.... he was going to go without me. But I still wanted to help. It hurt a bit. But then I looked at the ship and there were bugs everywhere. Spiders, beetles, ants. He didn't notice them at all. I was thinking that this ship was doomed... it may have killed the previous sailors and so what would it do to him? As much as it looked like a treasure and that you would want to hold on to it, maybe it needed to be let go. Which is hard to do when you just found something that you thought you would never find and seems so amazing. I went to go look for a captain, someone who could help us. A captain showed up (Robert Shaw) and he knew the sailing world. I felt like he was a friend from the past or something known. I felt safe around him. I offered information and he respected it and conversed about it. It felt so good not to struggle to prove myself. I showed him a map. It was only the edges of a map, like the right and bottom sides of a frame. He found the top and left sides and we put them together. Somehow, in the dream it was a whole map even though it didn't have a middle to see where we were going. But it all felt ok because we were working on it together.
